ABOUT

Hello, I’m Rachid!

I attained an undergraduate degree in English studies from the University of Ibn Zohr in Agadir, Morocco. I received the honor of being a Fulbright scholar and cultural ambassador at the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 2017 where I taught Arabic and took courses in Fine Arts.

I am distinguished as the first international student to receive a full-ride scholarship to study Fine Arts at the Hite Institute of Art and Design at the University of Louisville. In 2021, I received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Louisville. While at the University of Louisville, I taught courses in Studio Art and Visual Culture to college students.

In 2019 I and my supervisor Mary Carothers took five students for a two-week study abroad trip to Morocco. After this trip, I curated “Morocco, Many Eyes One Vision”, an exhibition featuring the work of these students as well as other Moroccan artists. I also worked at the Filson Historical Society and gained archival experience in photo collections. I am a passionate photographer and videographer whose work has won many international awards, and my photography has taken me all over the world.
